International Students

One To World's Global Classroom offers you--as an international student or scholar--a chance to be invited inside a city school to meet young New Yorkers and share important information about your country, culture, or area of academic expertise. In the process, you are likely to learn more about your country and yourself.

As a Global Classroom speaker, you may be the first person from your country that the schoolchildren have met. Through your authentic voice, students hear a perspective on history or current events not represented in textbooks or in the media. As a Global Classroom speaker, you can put a human face on information that might otherwise seem very distant. The next time the students you meet hear a news report about your country or region of the world, they are more likely to have a context for it. You, in turn, are guaranteed an unforgettable experience, in a part of New York City where you probably have never been before, and with an audience you might otherwise never meet.
