Since 1985, One To World's Global Classroom has enabled international students and scholars to make lasting connections with young New Yorkers and their teachers.  Through Global Classroom, international students are trained as "Global Guides" to design and lead original curriculum-based workshops in K-12 classrooms and afterschool programs that are creative, engaging, and focused on an array of global and cultural themes.

One To World's Global Guides bring insights into classrooms based on their own experiences, serve as role models for newly arrived immigrant youth and American-born students alike, and help teachers incorporate diverse global perspectives in reaching their curricular goals.  In bringing first-hand knowledge to a wide range of academic disciplines, Global Classroom helps students and teachers communicate across cultures to reduce the potential for misunderstanding and conflict based on racial, ethnic and cultural differences.

Through this program, students deepen their knowledge of global issues, culture, cross-cultural awareness and understanding through meaningful experiences. Creating these opportunities, supports youth to engage and learn from a variety of people and perspectives and prepares them to contribute the necessary skills to be successful in the 21st Century.

Our Mission

The purpose of One To World's Global Classroom program is to engage youth and international students and scholars in meaningful face-to-face intercultural exchange that cultivates stronger communities and citizens within our diverse American and global society.
