One To World is excited to be partnering with Parthenia, a consort of viols, to bring you discounted tickets
for their upcoming concert, William Byrd - A Life in Music.

Parthenia is excited to be collaborating with an ensemble of New York's finest Renaissance vocalists, Michele Kennedy, Eric Brenner, Tim Keeler, Michael Steinberger and Malcolm Merriweather, to present a rich and varied selection of masterworks by William Byrd, Queen Elizabeth I's favorite composer.

In 1572, William Byrd joined the Chapel Royal taking over the job of teaching the choirboys singing, and playing viola da gamba. Byrd, one of Elizabeth’s most respected and beloved Gentlemen of the Chapel Royal,” created the consort song, a through-composed solo song accompanied by viols, and his fantasias for five viols, with intricate and joyful sounds.
