One To World Walk: Scenic Central Park

Event Details

Date: 05/11/18 Cost: $20 Time: 4:15 PM Location: Manhattan

Did you know that Central Park is the most visited urban park in the United States? The history of Central Park's creation is a contentious one. While the idea behind building a green space for city inhabitants was well-intentioned, much was lost by many New Yorkers to make the park what it is today.

Since the entirety of Central Park extends 4 kilometers, we will be focusing our tour on one area. We will begin at the entrance near 67th street, visiting many well-known spots of the park, including Tavern on the Green, Sheep’s Meadow, the Central Park Mall, the Shakespeare-in-the-Park Theatre, and much more! We will then complete our tour around 86th street, and give you the option to continue exploring the park on your own!

We guarantee you will walk away from the afternoon with a wealth of new knowledge and a deeper appreciation for the history that NYC holds!

About the Tour Guide: Tim White, history professor and Interim Associate Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at New Jersey City University, is a former professional tour guide who will walk us through the park's intriguing story!
