Spend your Friday evening exploring two neighborhoods in Brooklyn – Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO. Our guide will share insight into the rich architectural, social, and literary history of The Heights as we stroll the tree-lined streets and visit sites associated with Walt Whitman, Truman Capote, & Henry Ward Beecher.
In DUMBO (short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), we will see preserved buildings from Brooklyn’s industrial and shipping past. The large community of tech startups earned this neighborhood the nickname, "the center of the Brooklyn Tech Triangle." Afterwards, we will walk across the Brooklyn Bridge as our guide, Tim White, history professor and former professional tour guide, recounts the dramatic & fascinating story of how it was constructed. We will then conclude at Manhattan's City Hall. This is one tour that you won't forget!
